Hi help required - My partner is taking part in the London to Brighton walk this weekend for charity. I am staying at the premier inn in Lewes on Saturday but have read that they don't have parking and the nearest car park has a maximum stay of two hours except Sundays.
I was wondering if there is anywhere you could recommend where I can leave the car for 24 hours (Saturday morning until Sunday morning) as we intend to get the train to Brighton on the Saturday to have a look round and then come back to Lewes in the evening (don't particularly want to move the car once parked).
Any advice would be appreciated.

They do have a car park, but the developers didn't include it as part of the Hotel (as they're trying to sell it to build houses on, which in turn don't have parking).
However we were assured that the "bike rack" provided would be sufficient "parking" for guests staying at the hotel, so I would suggest you come by train and bring bikes (or try the station as Landporter says).

Since it's for charity, you're welcome to use my parking space in New Malling. It does however take me 20 and 30 minutes to walk to Premier and Station respectively. However I am a bit old and tired so you could do it a lot quicker. If you're interested, I'll post an email address.
For something closer, excellent recommendations from Rookie and B&B.

Malling or Pinwell Road if you can nab one of the very few free spaces. Corporation Wharf is £2 all day. Everywhere is free on Sunday.

Thank you all for your replies so far and thank you Horseman7 for your kind offer but there will be two cars as my partners friend is taking part as well.
I would have chosen the train instead of driving from Cambridge, but I have to drop my partner off somewhere in west London by 7 on the Saturday morning before driving to Lewes, so our aim is to be in Lewes by 09:00 at the latest and hope there will be parking in one of the places you have all recommended. Thank you again.

Two (small) cars can park in my parking space in Southover which is ten minutes walk from the station and you're welcome to use it, but probably after about 10 am on Saturday because my guests will need to clear it. It's available after that.
Failing that, Mountfield Road/Dripping Pan car park should almost certainly have space at that time and is right next to the station. Parking there is free on Sunday so you only have to pay for the Saturday.

Thank you all for your responses (thanks B and B landlady for your kind offer but the car is a medium sized estate car and myself and the kids will probably be there well before 10)
Sorry one last question - Can I assume that the car parks that have been recommended are 24 hours so we will be able to leave it their overnight on the Saturday?
Thanks again
Steve.

Virtually all the car parks in Lewes only charge between 9:00 and 17:00 and are completely free outside those times so you'll only have to pay for the time you're parked on the Saturday. Same for most on-street parking. So long as you don't park outside Laura Ashley you should easily be able to find somewhere to park for the whole weekend for under a fiver.
