With contemporary dance studied as part of the school curriculums, attending regular technique classes will aid the development of physical skills, choreography and performance in this art form.

Junior classes prepare students for tuition provided at secondary school whilst Senior/+ classes are excellent in assisting with GCSE and A’level dance grades. Classes include Graham, Cunningham and Release techniques, floor and travelling exercises as well as time to explore your own choreographic ideas with others. Grades 1-6 examinations with the NATD are also on offer to our contemporary dance students.

Classes run out of Ringmer, Lewes and Maresfield venues on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 4pm.

For those who would like more performance opportunities, we have both a Junior (Spot:Light) and Senior (HED:Strong) Contemporary Company which students can audition for.
