Alistair Anderson & Dan Walsh, Lewes Saturday Folk Club

Alistair Anderson has been at the forefront of the performance of traditional music for over three decades, starting as a teenage prodigy in the High Level Ranters band. He plays English concertina & Northumbrian pipes. Dan Walsh is a brilliant, innovative young clawhammer banjo player, singer and guitarist. He plays British, Irish and American folk music with a healthy dose of funky grooves, poignant songs, astonishing musical departures & lively humour.

Alistair & Dan will give us two forty-five minute spots and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience performing a song or tune if they wish.

During the day Alistair leads an all-day workshop on the music of Northumbrian tunesmiths for any instrument, while Dan leads one on clawhammer banjo.

Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.

We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you 5 off an evening when admission is 5 or more. It's 10 tonight. Advance tickets are available from the club and its website.
